Browser Cache Troubleshooting
How to test whether browser cache is causing stale or inconsistent behavior.
Cache can hide changes
Browsers store assets and data to make websites faster. After a release, cached files can make users see older behavior.
Start with a clean comparison
Compare a normal window, private window, hard refresh, and another browser. If only one browser profile fails, cached state may be involved.
Clear targeted data
When possible, clear data for the specific site instead of wiping everything. This keeps troubleshooting focused and less disruptive.
Record the evidence
Note browser version, operating system, URL, account state, and whether clearing cache changed the result.
